The Turning Pages reading programme is the primary resource for Coaches. This provides a carefully structured reading programme, which starts with basic phonics. During their initial training, Coaches are introduced to the programme and how to use it.

All Learners start from the beginning of the Turning Pages Programme and some Learners make rapid progress towards more fluent reading. However, for many Learners progress is slow and they need a lot of practise at each stage.

To help sustain interest and make coaching sessions more interesting and fun, Coaches are encouraged to use a variety of other resources to support their Learners, as and when needed.
